OUR MISSION

TO SERVE VETERANS from around the world living in the wake of physical, emotional and spiritual trauma — by way of a rehabilitative paddling program designed to rekindle belonging, challenge boundaries and achieve balance within an ever-changing sea.

Our Goals

To establish a worldwide network of bases that transcend borders and ideology to provide veterans local membership and international competition under a banner of belonging, healing and purpose.

Our Vision

With the success in helping veterans from around the world — we look to one day expand our program to include individuals who have experienced trauma by way of domestic and sexual assault, human trafficking and displacement, as well as ‘at risk’ youth.

Our Promise

Trauma runs deep and wide as the sea, however, in SEASU there will always be the promise of hope, purpose and life beyond the horizon.

140 Veterans Trained Per Week

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Our Success

OUR SUCCESS will be found in the faces and conversations of our comrades. It will be discovered in the sea and carried throughout their lives,
to strengthen families and communities.

OUR SUCCESS will be realized in the knowledge that we have overcome that which seemed lost or impossible. It will be confirmed by outcomes and supported by the stories of our brothers and sisters — resolute in purpose and united by the sea.

OUR CHALLENGE & VALUE

Thus far, our program’s value has been anecdotal and framed by the words and stories shared by our paddlers. However, our approach and desired outcomes are in line with the work of trauma pioneers such as Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, author of the seminal work The Body Keeps the Score: Mind, Brain and Body in the Transformation of Trauma.

We are not ‘the’ answer to the challenges that meet our veterans, however, we are part of the process and pathway to understanding, connecting, healing and living fully.
